{"id":25282,"date":"2021-03-08T09:03:40","date_gmt":"2021-03-08T09:03:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lugobiodinamico.eu\/catalogo\/?post_type=etheme_portfolio&#038;p=25282"},"modified":"2021-03-15T10:59:01","modified_gmt":"2021-03-15T10:59:01","slug":"ag01-natural-drainage-network","status":"publish","type":"etheme_portfolio","link":"https:\/\/www.lugobiodinamico.eu\/catalogo\/en\/proyectos\/ag01-natural-drainage-network\/","title":{"rendered":"AG01 NATURAL DRAINAGE NETWORK"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;]<div id=\"ultimate-heading-231269ded2ca16dfd\" class=\"uvc-heading ult-adjust-bottom-margin ultimate-heading-231269ded2ca16dfd uvc-2515 \" data-hspacer=\"no_spacer\"  data-halign=\"left\" style=\"text-align:left\"><div class=\"uvc-heading-spacer no_spacer\" style=\"top\"><\/div><div class=\"uvc-main-heading ult-responsive\"  data-ultimate-target='.uvc-heading.ultimate-heading-231269ded2ca16dfd h2'  data-responsive-json-new='{\"font-size\":\"\",\"line-height\":\"\"}' ><h2 style=\"font-weight:normal;\">AG01 NATURAL DRAINAGE NETWORK<\/h2><\/div><div class=\"uvc-sub-heading ult-responsive\"  data-ultimate-target='.uvc-heading.ultimate-heading-231269ded2ca16dfd .uvc-sub-heading '  data-responsive-json-new='{\"font-size\":\"\",\"line-height\":\"\"}'  style=\"font-weight:normal;\"><\/p>\n<h4>Rainwater drainage network through<br \/>\nnature-based systems<\/h4>\n<p><\/div><\/div>[\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;24526&#8243; img_size=&#8221;medium&#8221; alignment=&#8221;right&#8221;][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space][vc_text_separator title=&#8221;&#8221; color=&#8221;custom&#8221; border_width=&#8221;4&#8243; accent_color=&#8221;#fae699&#8243;][vc_column_text]<strong>Aim<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Improve the integral management of the water cycle.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Because we need an integral management of resources, not their consumption.<\/p>\n<p>We must consider the effects of climate change starting with the design processes of urban planning, in order to moderate the rise in the planet&#8217;s temperature and the waste of energy and water resources, developing a catalogue of multi-scale, flexible and low-risk solutions.<\/p>\n<p>The Spanish National Plan for Adaptation to Climate Change (PNACC) indicates a general trend towards higher temperatures and less rain, which will produce:<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7General reduction of available water from 5 to 14% by 2030 considering a temperature increase of 1\u00baC and a drop in precipitation of 5%, which could increase to 20-22% by the end of the century.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Hydrological variability, simultaneously increasing the risk of torrential episodes and floods, which will diminish the quality of raw water and generate risks for the quality of drinking water even with conventional treatment, due to the factors that interact: increased temperature; increased loads of sediments, nutrients and pollutants due to heavy rains; greater concentration of pollutants during droughts; and interruption of the operation of treatment facilities during floods.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Through urban-hydraulic landscape infrastructure whose mission is to capture, filter, store, retain, transport and\/or infiltrate the water to the land, so that it does not suffer any deterioration and even allows the elimination\/purification, in a natural way, of at least part of the pollutant load that may have been acquired by previous urban runoff processes.<\/p>\n<p>This approach attempts to reproduce, as faithfully as possible, the natural hydrological cycle prior to urbanization, so that we can better manage the problem of water scarcity (drought) or surplus (flooding) in urban environments.<\/p>\n<p>This kind of strategies are named Sustainable drainage systems (SuDS).
