“Rethinking the future of Cities: Trees are revolutionizing cities around the world”, is the motto chosen this year by the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations), focusing on the role of cities in the future and especially on the protection of urban forests. The LIFE Lugo+Biodynamic project fits in perfectly with its approach, in the development of resilient and multi-ecological neighbourhoods, promoting and conserving urban forests through its actions.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food held a conference on 7 June on “Urban Forests and Health in Cities. New Perspectives”, which has been addressed to technicians and city council managers, as well as graduates in the field.

The LIFE Lugo+Biodinámico project has participated at the invitation of the Ministry in these conferences, making the project known to the attendees and its measures, so that they can be taken as a reference and replicated in other urban areas. The researchers from the University of Santiago de Compostela, Esther Fernández and Cristina Eimil, gave the talk, which was received with great interest.
