This week the urbanization works began on the plot surrounding the Impulso Verde building from LIFE Lugo + Biodinámico. From the collaboration and establishment of synergies with the LIFE CerSuds project, the filtering pavement is being installed throughout the plot, which was donated completely free of charge by the Valencian project.

LIFE CerSuds, stands for Sustainable Urban Drainage System of Ceramics, is a LIFE project that uses ceramic material that has no commercial outlet to use it as the basis of a paving filter system. Its operation consists of the creation of a surface as a permeable tile, formed by an innovative system with low environmental impact that allows rainwater to filter into the ground located under the pavement. Its implementation in the area of Impulso Verde will help collect and use rainwater to hydrate the soil.

In this gallery you can see the entire installation process and how the filter pavement works:

From LIFE Lugo + Biodinámico we want to thank the LIFE CerSuds project for the free transfer of the filtering pavement, as well as Ceramic Technology Institute, at Benicàssim city council and Trencadís de Sempre for their collaboration throughout of the two projects.
