This Friday, April 29, the Impulso Verde building has received a new visit: the students belonging to the mixed Masonry and Civil Works Training programme, as well as the Gardening and Forestry Works program of the Fabero City Council, in León.

The participants, a group of 20 people, 16 students and 4 monitors, were able to see first-hand the unique characteristics of this building that make it a benchmark in the field of sustainable construction. The interest generated by this building is mainly due to the use of wood as a structural element, as well as its commitment to almost zero energy consumption, reducing CO2 emissions into the atmosphere by 90% regarding homologous constructions of concrete and steel.

Impulso Verde is the first public construction in Galicia made of local wood and is also the first in Spain and one of the few in the world to obtain the prestigious certification of FSC projects (which guarantees that it does not contribute to deforestation and is committed to local products), becoming a benchmark in the fight against climate change, capable of generating its own consumption with alternative energies.

After their visit, the participants went to the As Gándaras plantations where they also had the opportunity to see the new urban forest developed by LIFE Lugo + Biodinámico.
